Tates Coaches News
From July 2008, commercial vehicles such as coaches and buses which enter London must conform to the specifications of the Low Emission Zone (LEZ). To conform, the exhaust gases produced by these vehicles may contain only very low levels of soot and dust.
In effect, this means that many coaches will have to undergo expensive modifications in order to conform. Non-conforming vehicles will have to pay a charge of £200 per day.
The area that is affected by this legislation covers pretty well everything within the M25. You will appreciate that this therefore includes not just Central London but also many venues on the outskirts.
We keep our charges as reasonable as possible and customers who have travelled with us for some time appreciate that we endeavour to maintain a low level of year on year increases. For this reason, I feel I should write to explain why the charges quoted for future visits will be higher than previously.
London continues to offer some of the finest destinations, and coach is the safest, most convenient, cost effective and environmentally friendly way to travel. However, these extra charges might lead you to consider alternative venues located within the provinces.
